Caring Ministries

The Pastoral Care Ministry of the Presbyterian Church has one goal – to “Connect the Congregation to Christ through Care.” We try to accomplish this through our various ministries of caring.
We have thirty-seven ordained deacons who care for our members. Every member belongs to a specific flock and is cared for by a deacon who
  • Prays for each member of the flock
  • Identifies needs within the flock and determines how best to meet these needs
  • Provides care and support for the flock members

In their ministry, Deacons may call upon other services that the church provides such as Meals, Hospital and Shut-In Visitation, Financial and Legal counseling, Pre-Marital counseling, Short Term Spiritual counseling and Prayer, Funerals and Memorial Services, Receptions, Divorce and Grief Support, Handyman services, Transportation and Shopping Services.

In addition to caring for our members, Caring ministries reaches into the community in these ways-
  • Wholeness Service (more info below)
  • Divorce Support Group
    (more info below)
  • Grief Support Group (more info below)
  • Emergency Food Pantry
  • Community Blood Drive

If you need support, care, encouragement or counsel, Colleen Fletcher, our Minister of Congregational Care and Support (908.665.0050 x15 or fletcher@pcnp.org) and Maury Fryer (mauryfryer@aol.com), her assistant, would be glad to assist you.

 Wholeness Service

Join us the second Saturday of each month September through May at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary.

Come-let God restore and renew your spirit through… Music… Quiet… Reflection… Scripture… Communion… Prayer… Personal Testimony
Whether you feel the need for physical healing, or healing from anger, grief, a painful life experience, or broken relationship, God will meet you at your place of need.
This unique service provides a time for you to meet God and to feel the comfort and forgiveness that refreshes you through Jesus Christ. God desires to enter into a personal relationship with each of us. Let this be a time for you to step away from the everyday struggles of life and find peace and encouragement.
“and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.” Luke 6:19
